What is the overall benefit of holding PIVX longterm?

The future success of the coin largely depends on the community and energy continuation driving the project forward. That being said: Increase in wealth. As is the case with all cryptocurrencies, there is a potential that by holding PIVX for the longterm, you will see a return in the value (and thus wealth) you hold.

Ability to vote/participate in the coins direction: If you hold one of the masternodes, you’ll be able to participate in the governance of the coin.

Community Involvement. As the community grows, those who were early adopters will alway play a special part in PIVX’s growth. In a year, 2, or 5 from now…we can’t imagine what the landscape will look like.

    The PIVX community is awsome. They even have a Telegram channel ( https://t.me/PIVX_Panthers) and chat room (https://t.me/pivxchat). You can get the latest news on Telegram (in a Twitter style) and participate in discussions or ask questions in the chat group.

    Of course, they are on Slack too and other channels. I’ve only tried Slack (and Telegram). They answer all the questions very promptly. I had some issues with the wallet and posted a question on Slack, twice, and got an answer within very reasonable. time.

    The software although in developement is already showing to be promising.

    Finally, the currency has got great potential.
