Bitcoin Scrypt (BTCs or BTC2) is NOT Bitcoin SHA256!

Bitcoin BTC Scrypt Version has the exact same specifications as Bitcoin SHA-256, but is uses the same hashing algorithm as Litecoin – SCRYPT.

Bitcoin Scrypt details:

  • Scrypt Algo
  • Difficulty retargets every 2 block using the average global hashing of the previous 4 blocks
  • 50 coins per block
  • 21 million total coins.

    This has to be the most retarded coin out there. If you install this, it will over-write your original Bitcoin installation, deleting your Bitcoin wallet, etc.

    STAY AWAY from this piece of crap.

      Actually it’s very easy to avoid this. Just start bitcoinscrypt qt wallet exe with -datadir=c:\bitcoinscrypt or any other path you want all all data related to bitcoinscrypt coin will be stored in this directory.

        That is ridiculous – needing to use a cmdline parameter to avoid over-writing a critical piece of data is absurd. An altcoin can only be as good as the dev team behind it, and in this case, the developer is obviously completely incompetent.

          In reality not using the portable method to set your data directory is extreme fail. Really you want your coin wallets on your OS drive? Retarded.

    It has been demonstrated that it does not overwrite or corrupt the wallet.dat file. BTC SHA coins show up as unconfirmed in the BTC Scrypt client and BTC Scrypt coins show up as unconfirmed in the BTC SHA client, essentially making Bitcoin addresses useful for both.

    Since centralization of mining power may become an issue, I wouldn’t be so quick to dismiss this coin.
